CRISTINA AMATE & DOCHKA

Cristina studied Cinematography and Direction of Photography for Cinema and TV in CECDL and ECAM Film school, in Spain.

Short after, she moves to Berlin to work in more than 30 film and documentary projects as a First AC from 2013-2018.

Cristina's first Feature Film as a DOP is -MATHIUS MARVELLOUS SHOP- 80', 2019(directed by Pao Alvarez and Manu Escorihuela).

The film had a long and successful tour in festivals around the world, and it is the kickstart of her career as a Cinematographer. 

She signs the Direction of Photography of the creative documentary -TIEMPO-2019-2023.

Meanwhile, she already accumulated several music videos, commercials, and awarded short films, like -GEH´FUELE-2020(Directed by Oana Cirpanu and Sandra Rash) or -CAREGIVING-2023(directed by Marion Henkelmann).

Recently, she worked as a second Camera OP in the last season of -SEX SCHOOL-2022, directed by Poppy Sanchez, and produced by Anarella Martinez for ERIKA LUST.

Her most recent project as a DOP was the film series -NATURARCHY-2023, directed by Jemma Woolmore, and awaiting release in May 2024.

In 2017, Cristina founded Dochka. 

Cristina worked on the production of her first feature documentary(TIEMPO), in development for almost 10 years, and secured funding for further development and shooting. She accomplishes the production of the main photography of the film between 2019 and 2023.

Shortly after, in 2019, the production of -MATHIUS MARVELLOUS SHOP- took place, and she established herself in a new role as a Creative Producer and Executive Producer.

At the moment, she is finishing the post-production of -TIEMPO-, and developing the creative documentary -ROJO-(directed by Claudia Barthelemy), a project part of the Spanish Cinema Academy development program 2022-23, CIMA IMPULSA, COOFILM and DOCS BARCELONA DOC LAB.

She complements her work at Dochka with other projects for international media such as CBS, Reuters, and Welt. From 2020-2024, she produces around 20 chapters of several documentary series -50 GERMAN LEADERS-, -50 CLIMATE LEADERS-, and -VISIONS 2045-. 

Meanwhile, she works in the international office of RTVE in Germany as a Producer.

As a Director, Cristina awaits the release of her first feature creative documentary -TIEMPO-, in 2024-2025.
